December 2014 - Our commitment to gaining accreditations continues with Constructionline Certification...
BDS has undergone the rigorous registration and audit process with the SSIP organisation Constructionline and are proud to announce success in becoming fully Constructionline Registered and Certificated. This addition to our portfolio will complement our existing SSIP accreditation, CHAS, and makes our Customers' Tender PQQ checking easier and also helps BDS become more efficient in new works procurement. Furthermore it is a pointer for all our existing and potential clients that BDS are meticulous in our business procedures especially where Quality Assurance, Health, Safety and the Environmentare concerned
December 2014 - BDS invest in young blood with BAFE & FIA Training Courses...
BDS have many experienced, qualified personnel on the staff rosta but, with one eye on the future, are keen to encourage 'young blood'. To this end we have been investing in the younger members of the company by providing suitable training including Health and Safety subjects, Manufacturers' product seminars and Technical Qualification courses. The Technical Qualification courses we provide are through our trade association, the FIA. They have a full prospectus of relevant training in everything needed to become proficient in the disciplines we provide within our business. Over the last few months several of our younger members attended such courses and have been successful in passing to the required standard to receive Certificates
Harry Blyde, Darrel Langham, Max Blyde, David Morgan and George Blyde have all been presented with their certificates at our Head Office in Hackbridge by the MD Kevin Blyde
November 2014 - BDS secures Fire & Life Safety Systems Maintenance at Kings College Hospital, London...
We are very pleased to announce our success on being awarded the maintenance contract at Kings College Hospital for three years with an option of a further two. We fought off heavy competition following a rigorous pre-qualification exercise, and were congratulated on our tender return and subsequent presentation in which we demonstrated how we were going to deliver our services to the Trust
BDS are to provide site based management which liaise closely with the Hospital Fire officers and engineering staff supporting their existing systems. This presence also enables working closely with the Trust staff advising on system upgrades and new build designs. The site manager is supported by two full time engineers and background staff such as our compliance manager and service administration team Kevin Blyde MD stated '"We are delighted to win this contract and thank my team for their support and the huge efforts they all made"
October 2014 - BDS Major announcement on the way...

September 2014 - BDS EFM wins a £604K Electrical installation project at Fords Southampton...
The works comprise of new power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting and fire alarm to the VRC, EDC and Car Wash buildings. Also new lighting / power distribution to main Car park area. All the works are to be completed by year end 2014
September 2014 - KCH continues upgrading the Kiddie Vega Systems with more systems being added to the ever expanding Morley Network
With the announcement that Kidde Fire no longer support the Vega control panels, Kings college and BDS have adopted a programme to replace the existing Vega panels to the Morley ZX5e range, as these panels are replaced they are added to the Morley site wide fire network that currently consists of a 29 panel network to date, with further expansion for another 10 panels
September 2014 - Orpington Hospital Maintenance won with our newly attained approved status with Norlands...
As part of the Kings college Hospital portfolio, Orpington Hospital and the remote building at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH), the fire alarm systems and portable firefighting equipment are now maintained by BDS. Working closely with Norlands due to our unique location at KCH estates offices, we can respond quickly and efficiently to any fire alarm related issues that may arise
September 2014 - Tony does it again! 80 Miles off road London to Brighton raising £300 for charity...
TFollowing on from the great succes of the BDS the London to Brighton Bike Ride Tony Watts does it again with a stellar off road ride and a very welcome £300 raised for the British Heart Foundation
August 2014 - BDS wins system upgrade to the Guildhall London
The Project is CAT A, L1 design to Yard East. BDS will install a new Kentec system while maintaining a working system on the existing ADT system, once the BDS system has been witness and signed off, the ADT system will be removed
July 2014 - BDS has successfully completed a new Fire Alarm System using the recently approved C Tec ZFP control Panel
No 7 Curzon street London W1 The project consisted of a full fit out to CAT A, with interfacing and cause and effects to the residential flats above the office space and replacing the staircase ventilation control equipment. The facade of the building hides a surprising interior...

July 2014 - All projects are now completed at 125 London wall...
The projects consisted of full CAT A to L1 design for Invesco Level 6, Nabarro Levels 12 to 18, strip out to shell and core, levels 4, 5, 7 and 9 and Cat B to levels 10 and 11. All works required validation of existing fire alarm (Advanced) and PA-VA (Baldwin Boxall) along with extension of the base build cause and effects. Project total £456K
July 2014 - The summer Holidays start and BDS works commence Essential Fire Alarm works on local Schools...
They include New Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Panel Upgrades, New classrooms interfacing to existing Fire systems, isolations for Builders and Decorators works
At BDS we maintain a large number of local schools and at the start of the summer holidays it proved to be one of our busiest periods. All infants' school in England needed to improve kitchens to provide free meals for infant school children ready for the new term. This meant a large number of school undertaking new builds, refurbishment of existing kitchens, and change of use of some of their other facilities. The works involved were from the odd smoke detector to be relocated right up to large installations and panel changes
All this was carried out successfully on time by our Engineering team and this was also on top of normal PPM visits which have to be carried out during School holidays
June 2014 - BDS Support The British Heart Foundation raising just over £1,100 in total
Engineers and Management alike all teamed up early Sunday the 15th June to raise money on the London to Brighton Bike Ride. Due to England playing the night before most of the team had less than four hours sleep!
The BDS team rode for the British Heart Foundation and all turned up in sponsored livery to look the part
After a congested start sorting out some 35,000 riders, the pace stepped up once out in the countryside... We stopped for a light snack and refreshments at Turners Hill and just before the mighty Ditchling Beacon on the South Downs. The course was completed in 6 hours covering just over 54 Miles
Glad to say every one turned up for work on Monday a little stiff but satisfied in completing the ride and raising funds for a worthwhile cause For the Record Kevin Blyde (48) did conquer the beacon with his youngest son George (21), there were some that had to walk it blaming 'gearing on their bikes'...
May 2014 - BDS achieve CHAS accreditation
Breaking News!...BDS now accredited by the fastest growing Health and Safety Assessment Scheme in the UK!
BDS are proud to announce that our application for CHAS accreditation has been successful and we now are Certificated by the SSIP founder members for our Health and Safety Procedures Compliance and Management.
CHAS is established as the market leader for health and safety pre-qualification in the UK.
This additional accreditation further demonstrates our commitment to continual improvement of the company and the service to our customers.
January 2014 - BDS win Ford Dunton Contract
BDS are delighted to announce their recent success in being chosen to Supply Install & Commission the new fire alarm system for the Ford Motor Company site in Dunton Essex which is the largest automotive technical centre in the United Kingdom
The works will consist of the following:
The 25 week programme will start in January and is the first phase to upgrade the sites aging Fire Alarm System The project will be directed by Mitchell Blyde and project Managed by Tony Watts & Kevin Brooks
January 2014 - BDS keep promises to loyal customers by gaining accreditations in record time
When BDS was formed on the 6th August 2013 from the ashes of the ID Group conflagration the former BDS team made a promise to their most loyal customer base to get back the accreditations that they had previously earned. By Dec 2013 through sheer hard work and determination we received the news that we were being recommended for approval to Fire Gold BAFE SP203-1 by the inspector. In January 2014 our certificates arrived for NSI Fire Gold, ISO 9001, BAFE registration and FIA Membership
Thus keeping our promise we made to our loyal customers 5 months before...
January 2014 - We launch our new comprehensive website to much acclaim
At last it's here... Everyone at BDS is very proud to announce the launch of our new website and a new chapter in how we market ourselves to new and existing customers. This also begins a new relationship between BDS and Robert & the team at 7media who will take up the role as our Marketing and PR consultants. Kevin Blyde our MD comments " This whole design process has been enjoyable and very enlightening, made me really think about the business and realise just how important the web is to us"
